Don't promote or link to a store, business, or selling account that isn't an official MediaMate shop — this includes other marketplaces, personal websites, and social media selling pages. If you run a MediaMate shop, that's what it's there for.

Don't post links to TradeMe, eBay, Facebook Marketplace, or similar. If you're selling or trading something, list it in the C2C Marketplace or message the other person directly instead.

Posts should be about physical media collecting — what you've picked up, what you're after, trades, and the hobby in general.

Anything listed for sale or trade needs to be genuine and yours to sell.

Once you and a buyer have struck up a deal, mark the item Pending — then mark it Sold once the sale has actually gone through. This keeps the C2C Marketplace accurate and stops other members chasing something that's no longer available.

No harassment, hate speech, or abusive behaviour toward other members. Use the report option on anything that crosses a line.

Don't share someone else's personal information without their consent.

Post about a pickup (🎵), something you're looking for (🔍), or a trade/sale (🔄) using the + button. Like, comment, and tag an item from your collection or want list so people can see exactly what you mean. Use the tabs at the top to filter the Feed down to just Pickups or just Looking For posts.

Your public page — set a display name, username, bio and avatar in your profile settings. Anyone can view it, follow you, and see your collection, posts, and reviews from other collectors.

Catalogue what you own. Search Discogs (music) or IGDB (games) when adding an item and most of the details — cover art, year, label, genre — fill in automatically, or enter everything by hand. Mark any item "For Sale" or "For Trade" to list it in the C2C Marketplace, with your own price, currency, and postage terms.

Keep a running list of what you're hunting for. Found something? Tap "Found it" on the item and it moves straight into your Collection — the want-list entry clears itself automatically, no need to remove it by hand.

Mark an item Public and it's genuinely live across every shop on MediaMate — not just visible on your profile. Shop owners can see it appear in their own dashboard in real time, the moment you post it, and message you directly the instant they've got what you're after. Keep it Private and it's just a personal list, for your own tracking only.

Browse everything the community has listed for sale or trade. Tap a listing to see the full price, postage terms, and a "Message Seller" button that starts a private conversation with a note already filled in. Remember — these deals are between you and the other collector; see Community Rules for how that works.

Private, one-to-one conversations — photos included. You can delete a message for just yourself, or for both people within 30 seconds of sending it (after that, only "delete for me" is available).

After dealing with someone, visit their profile to leave a star rating and an optional comment about the item and how it went. You can update your review any time — it always reflects your most recent rating of that person.

The "Shops on MediaMate" card links straight to the Hub, where you can browse and follow real shops. Following a shop means you'll be notified when they list fresh stock.

The green dot shows genuinely active members right now. Recent Activity shows real posts from the community as they happen — a good way to see what people are actually picking up and talking about.
